We get asked a lot “How’d you get that name?” We are proud to say the company has been around for about 20 years, when the original owners started the business. The complex was located at the time on about 62 acres of land filled with quail, cattle, geese and even a few roaming donkeys. The current management team shortened the name to QMF Steel upon it’s purchase in 1994. Then, as the company’s product line and capabilities grew, the name reflected that and became QMF Metal Products & Services. As a tribute to the original company, the corporate logo shows the entire name. We moved to the interstate in 2002. The view can be exciting, but not as fun as watching those roaming donkeys!
Our staff, most of whom can be seen on the “Contact Us” page, creates solutions for your projects and maintenance issues. Recently our team was able to build a safety bumper for large warehouse racks, preventing pallet jacks and forklifts from slamming into the uprights and knocking down stored dry goods.
We can sell you the metal, but it is the other things we can do that add value to our relationship.
The plasma operation is functional as it produces ramp ears, gussets, tank lids and other parts for manufacturing. However, it is the cool metal art you can see on our “Metal Artwork” page that showcases your favorite school alma mater, company logo or design style.
Production cutting is a great way to save money and labor for machine shops. Our bandsaw can take large bundles of metal and cut lengths repetitively yielding a maximum number of parts in a small amount of time.
